2026 VT Chapter Patriot Award

On February 20, 2026, Orleans Country Club was contacted by Carrie Belden, PGA Headquarters and Joanne Flynn, New England PGA President to officially inform OCC that the New England Section Special Awards Committee and Board of Directors have awarded Josh Olney with the 2026 Vermont Chapter Patriot award.

The Vermont Chapter Patriot Award is presented annually to a PGA Professional who personifies patriotism through the game of golf and demonstrates unwavering commitment and dedication to the men and women who have valiantly served and protected the United States of America.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the New England Section will formally recognize Josh at the Awards Banquet to be held at The Haven Country Club in Boylston, MA.

This is a well-deserved recognition of Josh’s hard work. Orleans Country Club is incredibly proud to have an ambassador of Josh’s caliber on our team. He is a wonderful representative of Orleans Country Club and the New England PGA.

Josh Olney, a NCUHS graduate, came to OCC in 2013 with a goal to take Orleans Country Club to the next level and improve and grow golf in the area! Josh is a graduate with a business degree with a concentration on golf management from Methodist University in North Carolina.

Adding to his golf knowledge and expertise, Josh is a Member of the PGA and teaches focused individual lessons and specialized clinics. He also runs a top notch pro shop dedicated to customer service featuring everything from clubs to clothing as well as growing membership. Josh is happy to help anyone wanting to pick up the sport or get back into the swing of things. Josh has been instrumental in bringing the Border Golf Junior League to OCC, which enhances the successful Bob Silvester Junior Golf Program. It is important to him to keep the sport strong and feels our youth are the future of the game.

While we do not do “full” club fits, we do have the ability to do general club fits depending on what kind of clubs someone is looking for as well as the ability of the player. We will have various demo clubs that customers can try and we can use to do a general club fit. The best opportunity we offer for a FULL club fit is on the Cobra Golf day which we strive to arrange annually.

The 2026 Cobra Golf representative is scheduled to be here Friday, June 5, 2026. He will be on site at the Driving Range with countless clubs and shafts to try through a true clubfitter from Cobra.
